Synopsis
When Bernard Healy was born in 1838 in Donegal, Ireland. His father, John, was 23 and his mother, Margaret, was 18. He married Sarah Sweeney on 15 February 1859 in his hometown. Sarah Sweeney came to Australia with Bernard. Both were part of the Assisted Emigration scheme - Donegal Relief Fund. They went on the Sapphire Vessel and landed in Australia May 1859.
Their original name, Healy became Healey in Australia. They had eight children in 13 years. He died on 27 April 1874 in Murrurundi, New South Wales, at the age of 36.
