When Agnes Yuill was born in 1836 in Balfron, Stirlingshire, her father, Archibald, was 32, and her mother, Agnes, was 38. She married William Henry Yates in 1853. They had nine children in 22 years. She died in 1924 in Nyngan, New South Wales, at the age of 88.
